Zoo film leaps to top of UK chart

Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa follows the animals in the African savannah

Animated zoo comedy Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, which features the voices of Ben Stiller and Chris Rock, has topped the UK box office chart.

The sequel to 2005's Madagascar took £6.3m in its opening weekend.

Four Christmases, starring Reece Witherspoon, fell to second place with Transporter 3 entering at three.

Clint Eastwood's Changeling was at number four in its second week of release, while Quantum of Solace was in the fifth spot.

Action thriller Body of Lies, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe, fell two places from number four to six.

Lakeview Terrace, another new release in the charts this week, went straight into seventh place.

At number eight was romantic comedy My Best Friend's Girl, starring Kaye Hudson and Alec Baldwin.
