Four Christmases is also top of the US box office

Comedy Four Christmases has knocked Quantum of Solace off the top of the UK box office on its opening weekend after James Bond's reign of four weeks.

The movie, starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon, took 2.3m while Quantum of Solace took 1.5m.

Drama Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Angelina Jolie, opened at number three with 1.2m.

Robert De Niro comedy What Just Happened, meanwhile, opened at number seven with 178,818.

Four Christmases tells the story of a couple's struggle to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas Day.

The film also topped the US box office over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Quantum of Solace took its total UK takings to 47.7m.

Espionage thriller Body of Lies - starring Leonardo DiCaprio - dropped two places to number four.

And love-triangle comedy My Best Friend's Girl starring Jason Biggs, Dane Cook and Kate Hudson - dropped two places to number five.
