Two new contestants have entered the jungle to join the TV reality show, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here!

On arrival, former Dollar singer David Van Day and TV presenter Timmy Mallett were "kidnapped" in large nets and hoisted into the trees.

The two captives were then lowered into cages on the jungle floor.

The fate of Van Day and Mallett now lies in the hands of their 10 fellow contestants, who must decide if they should pay to release them.

The other celebrities, who entered the jungle on Sunday, heard about their new team mates from former tennis champion Martina Navratilova after she was summoned to the Bush Telegraph.

"There are two new camp mates being held captive in the jungle. They will be in prison until morning," said the statement, read by Navratilova

"You have the ability to ease their situation but only if certain demands are met. Await further instruction."

Meanwhile, the politician and former chat show host, Robert Kilroy-Silk said he felt "victimised" after he was selected to endure the bush tucker trial for a second time.

Other stars taking part in the ITV show include TV presenter Esther Rantzen, Star Trek actor George Takei and soap star Joe Swash - the current favourite to win.
