Bullock stalker gets probation

Marcia Valentine
Bullock alleged that Marcia Valentine tried to run over her husband

A court in California has sentenced a Sandra Bullock fan to three years' probation after she pleaded guilty to stalking the actress last week.

A felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon was dropped against Marcia Valentine, 47, after she admitted stalking on 5 November.

In 2007 Bullock won a restraining order barring Valentine from contacting her or coming near her for three years.

The star previously testified in Orange County Superior court.

In 2007, the actress told the court that, on five occasions, Valentine had left "weird signs and "pieces of animal fur" in her garden.

Bullock claimed that Valentine screamed obscenities and twice tried to run over her husband, Jesse James.

James, host of TV's Monster Garage, was not hurt.

Valentine was arrested the next day and charged in May last year.
