Jonathan Ross has been suspended from all BBC shows without pay for three months, following the prank calls row.

The BBC's Director-General Mark Thompson announced the extended suspension, after crisis talks with the corporation's governing body.

Russell Brand and the controller of Radio 2, Lesley Douglas, have both resigned in the wake of the row surrounding calls made to the actor Andrew Sachs.

Mark Easton reports.
