A US judge has dropped all charges against singer Kelis in connection with disrupting a police operation in 2007.

She was arrested in Miami after rushing at police and shouting profanities as they quizzed a group of men, including her rap star husband Nas.

The star, whose hits include Milkshake, was initially charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The case against the singer, whose full name is Kelis Rogers-Jones, was halted by the judge in Miami.

According to a police report, the officers in the Florida city's South Beach area asked her to step away, but it said that she continued shouting before charging at them again.

She was then restrained by friends, it added.

The report went on to say that Kelis resisted arrest while being handcuffed.

The singer married rapper Nas three years ago.
