DJ Dave Pearce is to switch his Dance Anthems show to digital station 6 Music when he leaves Radio 1 next month.

Fun Lovin' Criminals frontman Huey Morgan also joins 6 Music in a weekend schedule shake-up from 4 October.

Both DJs will appear on Sundays; Morgan in the afternoon with Pearce following in the evening.

Pearce said: "I'm looking forward to bringing a celebration of dance music to the 6 Music audience, and hope to bring in a new group of music fans."

Dance Anthems orginally aired on Sunday evenings on Radio 1 when it began in 1997, although more recently it has been broadcast on Fridays.

Morgan, will play "eclectic musical mix spanning rock, rap, disco, soul, latino and more", the BBC said.

"As a huge music lover it is a great opportunity to be able to share a massive catalogue on the radio," he said.

6 Music controller Lesley Douglas said: "6 Music has, at its heart, a love of music. By bringing Huey Morgan and Dave Pearce to the station we will bring an even greater breadth of music and talent to the schedule."
