DMX in US jail for theft charges

Rapper DMX is being held in an Arizona jail for failing to appear in court on theft charges.

The performer, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was extradited to the state capital Phoenix from Miami, where he had pleaded guilty to drug charges.

He will not spend any more time in jail on that charge, having already been in prison waiting for his trial to start.

Mr Simmons is being held on bail for $25,000 (£14,150), Maricopa County Sheriff's officials said.
