Richard and Judy channel revealed

Richard and Judy are best known for fronting ITV show This Morning

Chat show hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan are to present a programme on a new multi-channel TV service called Watch.

Last year the husband-and-wife team announced they would be quitting their Channel 4 teatime show this August.

Now UKTV, which signed them up, has confirmed the name of the channel which will broadcast their show. It takes the slot currently held by UKTV Gold +1.

The format of the pair's series is still being worked on.

But UKTV's chief executive, David Abraham, said the programme would be "a bit more unplugged and grown-up" than the duo's most recent Channel 4 show.

Madeley and Finnigan will continue their book club, which was a regular feature on Channel 4.

Mr Abraham also said he was "not ruling out" the idea of a quiz in the show, but said it was unlikely it would feature premium-rate telephone lines.

The couple are best-known for fronting the ITV show This Morning, which they began in 1988, before before moving to Channel 4 seven years ago.

Watch is due to launch in October and will also feature re-runs of BBC series such as Mistresses and Cranford. The pay-TV channel will be available on Sky Digital and Virgin Media.
