Knighthood for author Rushdie

Salman Rushdie, author of the controversial book The Satanic Verses, has been knighted by the Queen for his services to literature.

The novelist had to go into hiding in 1989 due to widespread Muslim protests against the book.

However, the author says he is more interested in his recent work.
