Cyrus to host Teen Choice awards

Actress Miley Cyrus will host this summer's Teen Choice awards in the US.

The 15-year-old, who shot to fame as the star of Disney's Hannah Montana, has also been nominated for four awards, including best comedy actress.

TV series Gossip Girl leads the way with 14 nominations, whilst singer Chris Brown is up for nine awards.

Teenagers aged between 13-19 can select the winners from an online vote. The show, which takes place in August, is aired by the Fox network.

Justin Timberlake, who has won 21 awards - the most since the ceremony started in 1999, has landed a further three nominations.

Rihanna, Kanye West and Hayden Panettiere are among the other artists with more than one nomination.

Performers for the event are yet to be announced.
