Singer Toni Braxton has cancelled four further concerts in Las Vegas while she recovers from chest pains.

The 40-year-old star, whose hits include Un-break My Heart and Breathe Again, is now expected to return to the stage on Tuesday.

Braxton was taken to hospital and discharged on Tuesday after precautionary tests.

The singer has been treated in the past for pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the heart.

Braxton has been performing at the Flamingo Showroom in Las Vegas since 2006.

"We wish Toni a quick recovery and would her to take the time she needs to regain optimal health," Flamingo president Don Marrandino said after the Grammy winner was taken ill.

A spokesman for the venue said ticket holders for the cancelled shows would be offered refunds.
