TV star Chris Tarrant and wife Ingrid have reached an "amicable" divorce settlement, according to his spokesman.

The pair split in September 2006 after she discovered he had been committing adultery. They were granted a speedy divorce in February 2007.

It has been reported Mrs Tarrant will receive around half of her husband's estimated £25m fortune - a £5.5m cash sum, plus property worth £6m.

The couple were married for 15 years and have two teenage children.

They both also have two children from their previous marriages.

Breakdown

According to reports, Mrs Tarrant has received Hatchford Hall, near Cobham in Surrey - the house where she lives with their children.

She will also keep the couple's villa on the Cote d'Azur, their house in Esher, Surrey and an apartment in Battersea, south London.

Tarrant, who made his name on 1970s children's show Tiswas, met Ingrid while working on breakfast TV station TV-am in the early 1980s.

In a statement issued in 2006, he said he had "only himself to blame" for the breakdown of his marriage.
