Five News presenter Natasha Kaplinsky has spoken of her delight after it was announced she is three months pregnant.

"If you have read any newspapers today you may have seen that I have had some news of my own," she wrote on her blog.

"For the record, I am delighted and everyone here in the newsroom and at the channel HQ has been lovely."

The 35-year-old, who married investment banker Justin Bower in August 2005, started work at the channel recently after leaving the BBC last year.

Five's evening news bulletin has seen its ratings increase by 72% since she made her debut in February.

"Natasha has been a great hit with our viewers and everyone is delighted by the news," said a Five spokesman.

Kaplinsky began her presenting career on ITV Meridian in 1997.

From there she moved to ITV London, Sky News and BBC Breakfast before landing a role on Five News.
