Soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae has thanked fans for their support after her husband Jason Rae was found dead from a suspected overdose.

In a statement posted on her website manager Bob Miller said the star was touched by the "love and support that's flooded in from all over the world".

He added she was "grateful for the privacy" given to her and the "respect" paid to herself and Jason.

The body of the 31-year-old saxophonist was found in a Leeds flat on 22 March.

A police spokesman said officers had arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs. He has since been released on police bail.

Earlier this week Deputy Assistant Coroner Roger Chapman said a pathologist's report pointed to a "suspected drugs overdose".

But the inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed so further investigations could take place.

Bailey Rae met her husband while working at a jazz club in the city. They married in 2001.
