Casualty theme tops charts
Casualty
Medical music is the inspiration for the chart-topper
BBC hospital drama Casualty has discovered the prescription for pop success after its theme music hit number one in the UK singles charts.

DJs Oxide & Neutrino - both aged 17 - replaced current chart-topper Fragma Vs Coco with their updated version of the long-running medical drama.

The track, Bound 4 Da Reload (Casualty), includes a sample from the familiar theme tune.

The original music, written by Ken Freeman, has accompanied the show since it was first screened in 1986.

Midweek sales figures showed the track was almost 3,000 copies ahead of Fragma - which has been at the top for two weeks, an unusual feat bearing in mind the rapid turnover of the singles charts.

The next highest new entry in the singles chart was Candy, by US singer Mandy Moore, at number six.

The top album was Play, by Moby, which kept its place at number one for another week.
