The last three contestants in ITV skating competition Dancing On Ice are preparing for the show's grand finale.

Hollyoaks star Chris Fountain is the favourite to win after receiving 29 points out of a possible 30 last week.

But the actor faces competition from Waterloo Road star Zaraah Abrahams and ex-Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw.

Skating mentors Torvill and Dean will reprise their legendary Bolero routine for the final, accompanied by cellist Julian Lloyd Weber.

The duo won a gold medal for at 1984's Winter Olympics in Sarajevo for the performance, after scoring 12 perfect sixes.

Twenty-year-old Fountain has faced some criticism for his participation in the amateur ice skating show because he briefly played ice hockey in his teens.

Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner said the actor had an "unfair advantage".

"He doesn't have the same fear that the girls had to overcome," he added.

But Fountain, who plays Justin Burton on Hollyoaks, has played down his previous experience.

"I suppose it gave me a general awareness of the ice," he admitted. "But I think I've pushed myself just as hard as everyone else. The difficulty has been tremendous."

Fountain will have to prove himself against Shaw, 26, who has made it to the end of the series despite suffering a cracked rib and a chipped ankle in skating accidents.

"I'm holding up," she said. "It hurts every now and again but I've been having great physio, so it should be OK for the final."

'Over the moon'

Abrahams is the outsider after ending up in the bottom two with Gareth Gates in last week's semi-final. But she said she was just glad to take part.

"Winning would be the icing on the cake, but to get through to the final is great," she said.

"It's what I came here to try and achieve and I'm over the moon."

Dancing On Ice: The Final Skate-Off is on ITV1 from 1900 GMT.
