Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina and sister Ali are to star in a fly-on-the-wall TV show, it has been announced.

Living Lohan will follow Dina as she works to manage Lindsay's schedule and help 14-year-old Ali try to follow in her older sister's famous footsteps.

Dina came under scrutiny managing Lindsay's rise to stardom, after allowing her to live a late-night life of Hollywood club-hopping.

The show will hit US TV screens in the summer on cable network E!

'Highly entertaining'

"This is a family that knows how to roll with the punches and come out on top," Lisa Berger, from E! said.

"Dina is an incredibly hard-working, passionate mum that I think our viewers will find both relatable and highly entertaining."

The series, which has already begun shooting, will chronicle the family's trip to a Las Vegas recording studio, where Ali is set to start work on a would-be solo album.

E! did not say if Lindsay will be seen on the show, but said that her 11-year-old brother Cody and 20-year-old brother Michael would be featured.

Lindsay, 21, began modelling as a child and created a name for herself in movies such as The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and Mean Girls.

As she entered her late teens, Lohan undertook more difficult roles and earned critical praise for her role in Robert Altman film, A Prairie Home Companion.

But last year, her personal life took a tumble when she was arrested twice by police and battled drug and alcohol abuse.
