Paltrow sued over crash
Gwyneth Paltrow
Paltrow drove into a stationary car
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is being sued by two people involved in a road collision with the Oscar-winning star in Hollywood last year.

Veronica Cabello and Jorge Arauz claim that the Shakespeare in Love actress caused them "permanent and serious" injuries when she ran into their stationary car in April.

Their claim also seeks "pain and suffering" damages in addition to other expenses.

The rental firm who owned the car the 26-year-old actress was driving is also being sued.

Cabello and Arauz's lawyer, James Earle, said: "They were stopped and she rear-ended them.

"They suffered $4,000 (£2,500) in damages to the car and $8,000 (£5,000) in medical damages.

Earle said he has been trying to settle the case with Paltrow and her insurance company.

Paltrow's lawyer, Harold Brown, was unavailable for comment.

She shot to international stardom in the 1996 film adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma and went on to win a best actress Oscar in 1999 for her role in Shakespeare in Love.

Paltrow is the daughter of St Elsewhere TV producer Bruce Paltrow and Tony-award-winning actress Blythe Danner.

Most recently, she has starred alongside Jude Law and Matt Damon in another acclaimed movie, The Talented Mr Ripley.

Paltrow's next offering is a karoke-bar comedy called Duets, directed by her father and due for initial release in the US this summer.
