Actress Patsy Kensit is pulling out of a new film starring Roger Moore and Tom Conti after being struck down with a stomach bug.

The 31-year-old, who is married to Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, has withdrawn from the British production The Enemy.

She was to have played a CIA agent, but had yet to shoot any scenes for the production.

Kensit's spokesman, Steve Dagger, said she was suffering from gastroenteritis.

He explained: "Doctors have advised her to rest for a week and this has made it impossible to take part in the filming as shooting schedules could not be moved.

"She is so disappointed about it because it was to be her first movie since having her baby."

Kensit gave birth to Lennon Francis in September 1999.

Next month she will be seen in new British movie Janice Beard, 45 Words Per Minute, in which she plays the head of a typing pool.

The Enemy marks a screen comeback for Roger Moore, who plays a British spy in the thriller about biological warfare.

The 72-year-old former James Bond star has spent the past few years concentrating on his role as an ambassador for Unicef.

Work on The Enemy is about to start in Luxembourg.
