An arrest warrant has been issued for actor Daniel Baldwin after he failed to appear in court in Los Angeles.

Superior Court Judge Scott Millington issued the no-bail bench warrant and revoked his probation after he failed to appear "without sufficient excuse".

Baldwin, brother of actors William, Stephen and Alec, was required to appear in court to give a progress report on his drug rehabilitation.

The 47-year-old was arrested last year on two misdemeanour drugs charges.

According to police, the actor was found in April 2006 in a Santa Monica hotel in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Rehabilitation

He had been undergoing treatment in an attempt to have the charges dismissed.

During his rehabilitation he recorded a series of confessional video diaries for US news show Primetime.

Daniel, the second oldest of the Baldwin brothers, played himself in the final series of The Sopranos.

Earlier this year he was cleared of stealing a friend's car after the charges against him were dismissed by US prosecutors.
