The Police have rescheduled a number of concerts which were postponed when Sting contracted a throat infection.

The band were meant to finish touring in Japan in February, but have added new European dates for next summer.

Tickets for the postponed Manchester concerts on 15 and 16 October are now valid for 17 and 18 June 2008.

Gigs at Mannheim and Dusseldorf in Germany, originally planned for 10 and 13 October, will now take place on 5 and 8 June instead.

However, the band's postponed show in the Belgian city of Antwerp has been cancelled altogether.

The second American leg of The Police World Tour will start at Madison Square Garden in New York on 31 October as scheduled.

It will continue to Central and South America throughout November and December, with dates also lined up for New Zealand, Australia, Japan and China early next year.
