Rap star in solitary confinement
Foxy Brown
The rapper is now in what is described as "punitive segregation"
Rapper Foxy Brown has been given 11 weeks in solitary confinement after she fought with another inmate in prison.

The 28-year-old became involved in a shoving match with a fellow prisoner, authorities in New York said.

She was also said to have been abusive to guards and refused to take a random drug test, so she will be placed in isolation for up to 23 hours a day.

Brown is serving a year in jail for violating her probation after a fight she had in a New York nail salon.

The star, whose real name is Inga Marchand, had been accused of missing her compulsory anger-management classes and travelling out of the city without permission.

Brown also refused to attend court after she was accused of throwing a mobile phone at a neighbour who complained about the volume of her car radio in August.

Four days later, she appeared in court and on charges of assault, attempted assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. She pleaded not guilty.
