Mariah released from hospital
Carey: Became ill after eating oysters
Pop diva Mariah Carey has been released from hospital after recovering from a bout of food poisoning.
The 30-year-old singer left the Boston hospital wehere she was being treated on Wednesday night. She was being treated for dehydration and other side effects of food poisoning. Carey began to feel unwell after eating raw oysters in Atlanta at the weekend. She checked herself into the Massachusetts General Hospital on Monday night and received intravenous fluids to help her recover. A hospital spokeswoman said Carey had fully recovered. World tour The singer went ahead with a concert in Atlanta on Saturday, but began to feel worse after flying to Boston, where she was later taken to hospital. Her Tuesday concert at the Fleet Centre in Boston was cancelled and rescheduled for 13 April. Carey, the biggest-selling female artist of the 1990s, is touring in support of her ninth album, Rainbow. It is her first world outing in eight years. The tour is taking in Spain, Japan, Singapore, the UK and five towns in the US. After her Boston gig, Carey is due to go on to Toronto and New York.
