Lost star 'lied about probation'

Lost actress Michelle Rodriguez has been accused by prosecutors in Los Angeles of breaking the terms of her probation for drink-driving.

They allege that she claimed to have completed a day of community service in the city last year, before admitting she was really in New York at the time.

A hearing will be held on 12 October to decide if she must be punished.

The actress was given a 60-day sentence last year for violating probation, but served only one day behind bars.

This time, she could face more than a year in prison, along with a fine of $2,000 (£976), if the judge finds her guilty.

She has also been accused of failing to follow an alcohol education programme in which she was asked to participate.

'Clerical error'

The 29-year-old star, who played Ana Lucia Cortez in the TV drama, did not speak in court as her lawyer, Richard Beale, argued she had already performed 30 days of community service.

He also claimed there had been a "a clerical error" in the paperwork the star had filed, which stated she had completed a day of community service in the city last year.

Superior Court Judge Daviann L Mitchel said: "I'm not impressed with your completion schedule.

"There were 55 people here in court today and all but very few have completed their responsibilities. They work on much less flexible schedules than you do," he added.

Ms Rodriguez was sentenced for breaking a probation order when she was arrested for drink-driving in Hawaii in 2003.

The star spent 65 hours in prison for that offence in April, and her probation was extended until 2009.
