Ant and Dec are hosting a run of their Saturday Night Takeaway series
TV duo Ant and Dec surprised breakfast viewers when they presented GMTV's weather live on air.

The pair were practising before a showdown to test their weather presenting skills on their own Saturday Night Takeaway show.

Ant McPartlin said: "Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. I've spent a week at the Met Office."

GMTV's usual weather presenter Clare Nasir stepped aside to let the pair take over the weather map.

As he pointed to the map, Ant also told viewers: "It's going to be nice around this point around Newcastle, particularly in one house, because it's my mam's birthday. Happy Birthday mam."

But by the end of the report around 0800 BST, he admitted: "I never want to do that again."

Ant, who competes against Dec each week on their show, went on to say: "I need to win on Saturday. I'm three nil down."

Declan Donnelly breezed through his broadcast at 0725 BST, saying: "I'm quite enjoying this."
