Five buys Pocoyo cartoon series
Pocoyo
Pocoyo will air on Five's breakfast-time Milkshake slot from 2008
TV channel Five has gained the rights to pre-school cartoon Pocoyo, narrated by Stephen Fry.

The animated show will air during Five's breakfast-time Milkshake children's programme slot.

CITV, which is ITV's digital channel for children, will continue to hold the rights to air the show at all other times of day.

The first and second series - which have already been completed - are due to be aired on Five from early 2008.

The first series of Pocoyo aired on weekday afternoons on ITV1, but was moved to CITV when ITV1 decided cut back on its children's programming.

Five's director of children's programming Nick Wilson called Pocoyo an "exceptional pre-school series".
