![]() Summer stars: Travis add T too V2000
Travis and Macy Gray are to headline Scotland's biggest music festival, T In The Park, this summer.
Joining them on the bill for the two-day event, held at Balado, near Kinross, on 8 and 9 July, will be Supergrass, Ocean Colour Scene and US band Fun Lovin' Criminals. Travis are the festival's first Scottish headliners. They won two Brit Awards earlier this month, including one for their album, The Man Who, which is currently at number one in the UK album charts. The band formed in Glasgow in 1991, and are supporting Oasis on the US leg of their world tour in April and May.
Macy Gray also won two Brit Awards, for best international newcomer and female artist. The Bluetones, Muse and Embrace have also been confirmed for T In the Park. The same three acts have been added to the bill for the Reading and Leeds Festivals in August. The Bluetones join Super Furry Animals, Elastica and US rapper Eminem on the main stage, while Muse and Embrace join former Stone Roses singer Ian Brown on BBC Radio 1's Evening Session stage. Oasis, Beck, Primal Scream, Stereophonics and Pulp have been confirmed for the three-day festival, which starts in Reading on 25 August and Leeds the following day.
Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene and Supergrass have also been added to the V2000 line-up. It is now left for the UK's most well-known festival, Glastonbury, to announce its line-up for the 23-25 June. Organiser Michael Eavis is not expected to announce the line-up until May, but reports have linked names as diverse as David Bowie, the Pet Shop Boys and US rock act Rage Against The Machine with the event, held at Eavis' Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. Meanwhile, BBC Radio 1 has announced its own mini-festival in London. The One Live season of shows from 20-24 April will feature Asian Dub Foundation, The Charlatans and Super Furry Animals. |
