Michael cancels gig after crash
George Michael
George Michael will be the first artist to play the new Wembley Stadium
Singer George Michael has cancelled a concert in Prague after a truck carrying his stage equipment crashed.

A spokesman for the show said part of a large podium was trapped on the damaged truck between Bucharest and Prague and "it was not possible to replace it".

The 43-year-old pop star arrived in Prague on Friday and was "profoundly saddened" by the cancellation, according to the spokesman.

The concert was part of Michael's current 25 Live tour.

He is due to play the first concert at the new Wembley Stadium next week.

Michael recently appeared in court after being accused of driving under the influence of drugs.

The singer, whose real name is George Panayitou, admitted driving while unfit but insisted his condition was due to "tiredness and prescribed drugs".

He is due to be sentenced on 8 June, a day before his first Wembley gig.
