Eddie Murphy is reportedly to star in a big screen re-make of popular 70s and 80s TV show Fantasy Island.
Murphy played James 'Thunder' Early in Dreamgirls
The 46-year-old actor and comedian is in negotiations over his role in the Columbia Pictures adaptation, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The project is being described as a family-oriented comedy.
The TV series, starring Ricardo Montalban, ran for six years and centred on a magical island where guests could live out their dreams.
Murphy was nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in musical film Dreamgirls earlier this year.
His latest release sees him reprise his role as the voice of the donkey in Shrek the Third, released on 18 May in the US and 29 June in the UK.
