Des O'Connor prepares for wedding
Des O'Connor and wife Jodie Brooke Wilson
The couple have a two-year-old son
TV presenter Des O'Connor is to marry his partner of 17 years this September.

The 75-year-old and singer-songwriter Jodie Brooke Wilson, 38, already have a two-year-old son Adam.

The host of Channel 4's Countdown said his four grown-up daughters from his three previous marriages will also attend the celebrations.

Speaking on the channel's Paul O'Grady Show, he said the wedding would be "a fun do" and joked he was "already in training" for the honeymoon.

Proud husband

O'Connor also told Hello! magazine: "We are both romantics and we can't wait to share this day with the people we love."

The couple decided to marry during a holiday in Wilson's native Australia over Christmas.

He added: "Nobody can say we rushed into it. We know we will be together for always. I can't imagine life without Jodie and Adam.

"It won't make any difference to our lives together. But I know Jodie will feel more comfortable saying 'my husband' rather than 'my partner'.

"And I will always be proud to introduce Jodie as my wife."
