Divas hold off Manics' chart push

Beyonce and Shakira have held onto the top spot in the UK singles chart, resisting a strong challenge from the Manic Street Preachers.

The Manics have moved up to two with Your Love Alone Is Not Enough, a duet with The Cardigans singer Nina Persson.

But Beyonce and Shakira fill the number one position for the third week in a row with Beautiful Liar.

The Arctic Monkeys are still on top in the albums rundown, followed by a new entry from crooner Michael Buble.

Amy Winehouse is at number three with Back To Black, while Mika moves up to number four.

Mark Ronson is at number five with Version, followed by a new entry from R&B star Ne-Yo with his second album Because of You.

Other new entries in the top 20 are by Natasha Bedingfield at number nine, James at 12, Rush at 13 and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at 15.

The highest new entry in the singles chart has come from new US rock band Hellogoodbye at number 10 with Here (In Your Arms).
