Singer and actress Barbra Streisand is to charge up to £500 per ticket when she plays in the UK this summer.
Streisand says she is looking forward to visiting Europe
The cheapest seats for Streisand's concert at London's O2 arena - formerly the Millennium Dome - will cost £100.
A spokesman for the star defended the prices, saying the concert was "a momentous occasion that ranks up there with seeing Sinatra or Elvis".
Streisand's London gig on 18 July - her first in the UK for 13 years - will be one of five European dates.
Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Barbra Streisand Foundation, which supports causes including the environment, civil rights and disadvantaged youngsters.
Top tickets to see the Rolling Stones at Twickenham this summer cost £150.
Streisand said of her European tour: "What a joy it will be to perform in so many wonderful countries for the first time.
"I can't wait to experience these different audiences and different cultures."
The lavish show will include a 58-piece orchestra as Streisand performs a string of hits including The Way We Were and Don't Rain On My Parade.
The 65-year-old is the best-selling female artist of all time, with 50 gold, 30 platinum and 13 multi-platinum albums to her credit.
Her career includes two Oscars, four Emmys, 10 Golden Globes and eight Grammy awards.
My parents both hit 65 this year. I'm desperate to get tickets for them (and me!) as a joint pressie. Yes, these ticket prices are expensive but they don't come bigger than Barbra! Name someone-else still living worth paying that much to see perform. I can't wait!

Where can I get the tickets for £500 - I'd pay that, Barbra's gr8. Just been on a couple of web sites, 1 is charging up to £1,300 and other £700.

I love Barbara Streisand, but I wouldn't pay more than £80 for a ticket to see her.

I was going to purchase some tickets as a gift for my Mum as she is a fan of Streisand. Not at those ridiculous prices though. She obviously has a high opinion of herself to charge that much. I have news Barbara..... you're not that good!
