Actress Alba is 'sexiest female'
Jessica Alba
Alba stars in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer this summer
Sin City star Jessica Alba has been crowned the sexiest woman in the world by readers of FHM magazine in the UK.

The US actress, 25, beat glamour model Keeley Hazell and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria to take the title.

"She's a talented, successful and beautiful actress who clearly has sex appeal that translates worldwide," said the magazine's editor, Chris Bell.

Last year's winner, Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley, dropped to 12th place.

But it is fellow Briton Sienna Miller who recorded the biggest fall.

The actress, who recently won critical acclaim for her portrayal of Andy Warhol's muse Edie Sedgwick in the film Factory Girl, plummeted from 12th place last year to 45th.

Many American actresses are at the top of the list, with Angelina Jolie and Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere all in the top 10.

Canadian actress Elisha Cuthbert is rated 10th.

Scarlett Johansson claimed fifth place, a small climb-down after topping the US version of FHM's sexiest women poll last year.

Aside from Keeley Hazell, the only Briton in the top 10 is Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy, who lands in seventh place.

Her bandmates all feature in the chart, with Sarah Harding at 17, Nadine Coyle at 27, Nicola Roberts at 47 and Kimberley Walsh at 61.

Prince William's former girlfriend Kate Middleton was also voted into the chart. She takes 25th place - up from 94th last year.

The top 100 is featured in the June edition of FHM.
