Singer James Blunt will not be charged over allegations that he ran over someone's foot while leaving a party in Los Angeles earlier this year.
"After a review of the information provided, we've decided not to file charges at this time," said a spokesman for the city attorney's office.
The alleged victim told police his foot was injured as Blunt attempted to steer his car through a crowd on 24 February.
The star's publicist said no charges were filed: "He is very happy."
"James was never charged with anything." said publicist Sheila Richman. "He's now hard at work in Los Angeles on his new album."
The 33-year-old British singer has won a strong following in the US. Last year he became the first UK artist in a decade to have a US number one, with his hit track You're Beautiful.
In December he was nominated for five Grammy awards, including album of the year and song of the year.
