Jacksons to find new pop family

Jermaine and LaToya Jackson are to act as judges on a new TV show to find the next musical family.

US network CBS has teamed up with the pair - along with brother Tito - to make the programme.

The exact format of "Pop Dynasty" has yet to be determined, but the families are expected to be tested for their ability to work together as a group.

Michael and Janet Jackson are not involved in the project as of yet, said a CBS spokesman.

Rigorously tested

The show is thought to be the first TV talent show to involve musical families.

VH1 attempted to launch a new singing and acting dynasty in the mould of 1970s favourites the Partridge Family, but they were not required to be related to one another.

Jermaine Jackson was runner-up on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, while his sister LaToya took part in US reality TV show Armed and Famous, in which celebrities train to become reserve police officers.

Tito Jackson acted as a judge on the recent BBC celebrity singing competition Just The Two of Us.
