Baby on the way for Kevin Costner

The Aspen mountains were the backdrop for the couple's wedding

Hollywood star Kevin Costner and his wife, Christine, are expecting their first child together.

"They're very excited, very happy about the pregnancy," said Paul Bloch, a publicist for the actor and director.

Costner, 52, has three children from his previous marriage to Cindy Silva and a son, Liam, from his relationship with socialite Bridget Rooney.

He married handbag designer Christine Baumgartner, 32, at his ranch in Aspen, Colorado in September 2004.

Guests, who included Oprah Winfrey, director Oliver Stone and Bruce Willis, were treated to activities including horse riding and baseball during the weekend festivities.

Costner won a best director Oscar for Dances with Wolves, which also won best picture in 1991.

He most recently starred with Ashton Kutcher in coast guard drama The Guardian.
