Billy Joel
Joel is one of the most successful recording artists of all time
Singer-songwriter Billy Joel is to release his first record since retiring from recording pop music in 1993.

The track - All My Life - was an anniversary gift for his wife, Katie Lee Joel who he married in 2004 at his mansion in Oyster Bay, New York.

It will be available to download on 20 February and then in US stores later this year.

Joel will be performing at American football's Super Bowl in Miami on Sunday before starting a tour.

The singer said fans should not expect more material as All My Life is the only pop song he had completed since 1993's album River of Dreams.

Joel, who had his first hit in 1973, has won six Grammys and a musical base on his work has been a hit on Broadway.

He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, and is the sixth biggest-selling artist in the the US, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
