Five-album deal for X Factor star
Ben Mills

X Factor contestant Ben Mills has signed a five-album deal with record label Sony BMG.

Mills, who was voted off in the ITV show's semi-finals, was compared to the young Joe Cocker by judge Simon Cowell.

The 26-year-old is currently recording his debut, which will feature songs from X Factor and his own material.

"The X Factor was the perfect platform to gain recognition and I'm really enjoying writing and recording this album," Mills said in a statement.

Before appearing on the talent show, Mills was director of a marquee company in Kent.

He joins fellow X Factor contestants Leona Lewis and Ray Quinn on the Sony BMG label and will release his first album in March.
