Rip Torn was acquitted of drink driving in 2004

Actor Rip Torn has been arrested in New York on a drink-driving charge after he was involved in a car accident.
The 75-year-old, who is to appear in court in the suburb of North Salem, refused to take a breathalyser test.
The Oscar-nominated star's publicist, Dick Guttman, said he had not heard from his client and could not comment.
In 2004, Torn was acquitted of drunken driving charges by a New York court after the prosecution failed to prove he had been drinking.
At the time his arrest became infamous because of a police videotape showing the handcuffed actor, who won an Emmy award in 1996 for his part in The Larry Sanders Show, cursing at officers and refusing to take a sobriety test.
When he heard the outcome of the case he shook hands with the male jurors, kissed the hands of the female jurors and said: "I love New York."
