Making resolutions on a particular day is stupid.
If something has to happen, it has to be that day.
You cannot say you're going to stop something next month because that's stupid.
I think one of the most difficult things in life is to learn about yourself earlier than you really should.

I never stick to my New Year resolutions, but next year I really want to be more organised.
It's ridiculous - I'm just not organised at all, and I hate it.
I feel so disorganised.
The only thing in my life that is organised is most probably my flat.

SIMON COWELL, MUSIC PRODUCER, 47

I never make New Year resolutions.

We live opposite Big Ben (in London) so it's always totally jam-packed around our area, and there are loads of fireworks going off.
So the best thing about our New Year is just looking out the window.
It's always good. I might have a party as well this year, but we haven't decided yet.

If dreams were to come true and there was a real fairy godmother, it would be just lovely if no-one was hungry this Christmas, no-one was lonely, no child was without a toy.
That would be the really nicest Christmas for everybody wouldn't it?

Angela got married this year to Jason Milligan

I don't make resolutions.
New Year is more about the party for me.
We're thinking about having a posh one this year at a big old country house with
dinner and dancing and all that.
I really feel like spending some money this
year.

PATRICK DUFFY, ACTOR, 57
Christmas will be quiet because it is our day off (from pantomime).

I don't make New Year resolutions, what's the point?
I don't smoke so I can't do that one.
Everyone does that one.
You get people who smoke going, 'On the dot of midnight I'm definitely giving up'.
Five to 12 they're puffing away, getting in as many as they can.
And they never give up.

Andy: I always break New Year's resolutions.
I want to eat less junk food. I say it every year, it's really bad.
I'm in good shape because I play football quite a bit, and I don't really put on weight, but it can't be doing me any good."
Michelle: "I'm good at keeping them sometimes.
This year's - being true to myself and staying happy - I think that'll be easy to keep.
