Simple Life star arrested in car

Richie is best friends with Paris Hilton

Nicole Richie, star of The Simple Life reality series and daughter of Lionel Richie, has been arrested after police pulled over her car.

She was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after her car was seen going the wrong way on a California freeway.

She was later released and the results of tests are awaited.

The 25-year-old has recently checked herself into a treatment centre to address a weight-loss problem.
