Take That keep top spot in charts
Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange
Last week Take That led both charts simultaneously for the first time
Take That have retained the number one position on the UK singles and albums charts for the second week in a row.

Patience and Beautiful World were also the week's top downloads and the band's DVD was number one too - the first time anyone has led all five charts.

Dance single Boogie 2Nite by Booty Luv climbed one place to two, while Oasis compilation Stop the Clocks went up one to number two in the albums chart.

But ex-Spice Girl Emma Bunton failed to enter the top 40 with her latest album.

There were new entries on the singles chart for Lazy Town's dance track Bing Bang at four, and Wind it Up by Gwen Stefani at eight.

Jamelia's Beware of the Dog moved up 24 places to 10, and Chris Cornell's James Bond theme song You Know My Name went in at 12.

Morrissey, Cascada, Scissor Sisters and P Diddy also entered this week's top 20.

Christmas hits

The chart also saw the return of some festive favourites.

Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade was at 22, with Fairytale of New York by the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl one place lower.

Two classic Christmas songs also sold enough downloads to have made the top 40 - but they were ineligible for the chart because they were not available as CD singles in the shops.

These were Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You and Last Christmas by Wham!

The top 10 albums were the same as last week but in a slightly different order.

Westlife climbed one to three, pop-opera crossover stars Il Divo were down one at four, and U2's singles collection moved up one place to number five.
