An exhibition of fashion photography at the National Portrait Gallery is to star British supermodel Kate Moss.

Images of the 32-year-old will appear among 100 pictures charting fashion photography since 1990.

Face of Fashion will feature work by Corinne Day, Mario Sorrenti, duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Steven Klein and Paolo Roversi.

Moss has bounced back from being at the centre of a media storm over her alleged cocaine use.

Day is famous for her collaborations with Moss over the past 15 years and is credited with helping to discover her.

The exhibition features some of the world's most famous faces

Her "heroin chic" portraits of the young model in 1990 will appear in the show, including a photograph that was not published in Face magazine at the time.

Sorrenti, who is best known for his exotic pictures of often naked subjects, also has shots of Sharon Stone and Catherine Deneuve.

Other celebrities to be features will be Angelina Jolie with Brad Pitt, Justin Timberlake, Uma Thurman, Drew Barrymore and Bjork.

Curator Susan Bright said of the decision to feature nine images of Moss in the show: "It's interesting to look at the different ways that she is represented and think about her place in contemporary culture as well.

"Nobody looks like her. She is a complete moment of her time. She represents youth, beauty, intelligence, street-cred and she's from Croydon, she's one of us."

Face of Fashion runs from 15 February to 28 May next year.
