Kylie prepares for tour comeback

Kylie Minogue has returned to Australia to resume the tour she cut short when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Minogue postponed the Australian leg of her Showgirl world tour when she received the diagnosis 18 months ago.

"I'm thrilled to be back - I've been waiting for this day for such a long time," she told reporters at Sydney International Airport.

"We've got our work cut out for us this week. We're on tour again!" Her first show is in Sydney on Saturday.

She will play three dates at the Sydney Entertainment Centre before moving on to five other venues in Australia before Christmas.

The 38-year-old singer will then perform in the UK, including six nights at Wembley Arena, in January.

She was diagnosed in May 2005 and completed chemotherapy in December.

During a Sky One interview in July, she said she lacked energy and stamina and had "a mountain to climb". She added: "But I don't fancy hanging around at the bottom of the mountain."
