Scorsese's Departed still on top

The Departed has topped box offices in both the UK and US
Martin Scorsese's crime drama The Departed remains on top of the UK and Ireland box office chart.

The thriller, starring Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio took 1.45m, putting it ahead of fashion-themed film The Devil Wears Prada, which took 1.35m.

Both movies have dominated British and Irish cinemas since they were released three weeks ago.

Animated comedy Barnard was a new entry at number three, taking 1.02m ahead of many schools' half-term holiday.

Another cartoon movie, Open Season, fell one place to number four, with takings of 1.01m between Friday and Saturday.

Horror movie The Grudge 2, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Amber Tamblyn, was a new entry at number five, taking 773,422.
