Major minor and Noble expecting

The couple happily announced their baby is due in June

Actress Emma Noble and her husband James Major - son of former Prime Minister John Major - have announced they are expecting a baby.

Emma, 28, who married James last May, is three months pregnant.

John and Norma Major are 'delighted'
Proud father-to-be James, 24, said he was "absolutely over the moon" at the prospect of parenthood.

Outside the couple's home in Chislehurst, Kent, on Tuesday he said: "Emma is feeling great, she's very well and very excited."

James said they found out the good - but unexpected - news at Christmas. It was, he added, far too early to be thinking about names - but he confided that his wife was already feeling the effects of pregnancy.

"She's been having morning sickness and has been feeling a bit groggy, but hasn't had any cravings - but I'm sure they will come, further down the line," he said.

Lavish wedding

James, who has his own business, married former TV game show hostess Emma at a ceremony in the Palace of Westminster.

The ceremony, plus the lavish reception at London's Dorchester Hotel, was featured in an exclusive spread in Hello! magazine.

The couple have lived in their 300,000 home in Chislehurst since the wedding. James has however been suffering from health problems that began last March when he collapsed in London's fashionable Met Bar.

He was fitted with a pacemaker in July after medical experts diagnosed heart problems, following a series of further collapses.

Career moves

Nethertheless on Tuesday he said that he was feeling "much better" and that he had reached almost 60,000 words of the novel he is writing.

Emma, he confirmed, was also enjoying success, having landed the part of Boadicea in a new TV drama. However, she will now need to discuss with the producers whether they can work around her pregnancy.

Future grandparents Dame Norma Major and John Major said were "delighted" at the news of the baby, which will be their first grandchild.
