Posh Spice's brief confession

The Beckhams David Beckham prefers spicy undies, says his wife

As if her husband did not have enough terrace chants to put up with, Victoria Beckham has just gifted his hecklers another one by confessing that the Manchester United borrows her underwear.

World Club Championship
The Spice Girls singer told hundreds of thousands of TV viewers that her husband David has been known to wear her thongs.

Posh Spice, 24, made the comment during an interview on Channel 4's Big Breakfast programme.

She immediately backtracked, claiming it was a joke, but when pressured by presenter Johnny Vaughan, she admitted the United and England star liked to wear her skimpy undies.

She has spoken previously about giving the United midfielder, once pictured wearing a sarong, a designer Gucci thong of his own which he occasionally wore.

But when she let slip the comment "he likes to borrow my knickers", Vaughan pounced on the remark and demanded more details.

'Big pants'

He said: "I know you're not joking - you're trying to make out you are now, but he wears your pants. Is it thongs or big pants?"

"Thongs," she whispered.

Other confessions made during the interview included the revelation that, if her music career ended, she would like to work on a cash till - because she loves the sound of bar code readers - and that she and her husband watch videos of BBC comedy Only Fools and Horses every night.

Mrs Beckham also scotched rumours that the couple were planning a move abroad, insisting they were happy being based in the north west of England.
