Chat show host Michael Parkinson will fulfill a 25-year-old ambition to interview Sir Paul McCartney when the pop legend appears on his programme this week.

The former Beatle will appear on a one-hour Parkinson special on Friday and will also perform songs from his album Run Devil Run.

The show will also be Sir Paul's first major TV interview since the death of his wife Linda in April last year.
