Snoopy creator has cancer
Charles M Schulz, creator of the popular Peanuts comic strip, has been diagnosed with colon cancer.
His wife Jean told reporters that doctors were determining the best course of treatment. "I don't see additional surgery proposed at this point," she said to a local newspaper in their home town of Santa Rosa near San Francisco. Peanuts, with its popular characters Charlie Brown and Snoopy the dog, is one of the most popular cartoons in the world.
"United Feature Syndicate hopes and expects that Mr Schulz will be able to produce new material for the new year," a statement from the publishers said. Links to more Entertainment stories
